06:25 pm - Flying goggles -- first test
I took the M38A1 out for a spin today with the fancy new goggles. They certainly do keep my eyes happy at speed, and with the windshield folded down I can achieve moderately higher speeds than without.
The only downside, in addition to my looking like an utter fool, is that they reduce my peripheral vision. I can see left and right just fine, but to look down at the gauges I have to move my neck. It's not a big deal, as the gauges don't tell me much of use, but it might take me a minute or two to realize that I had overheated the engine or broken the generator.
