06:51 pm - More useful things to know

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

I'm learning the ground control signals in use at airports. Most are fairly intuitive, and familiar from looking out the windows of passenger aircraft.  There is one that's new to me:

Make rapid horizontal figure-of-eight motion at waist level with either arm, pointing at source of fire with the other.

I am definitely adding this to my non-verbal vocabulary, for those you're-on-fire-but-it's-too-loud-to-talk situations.

could come in handy as a signal that someone's lying, if you point at their pants. :)

Just so long as you don't confuse it with the signal for "cleared for take-off" ;)

[Apparently I'm twelve this morning. Sorry.]
