The BBC tells me this morning that Microsoft has apologized for including the magic numbers 0xB16B00B5 and 0x0B00B135 in its code, and will be issuing patches to remove them.
My own code makes extensive use of 0xCAFEBABE. It seems a little more upbeat than 0xDEADBEEF. A decade ago when I worked on 24-bit systems, 0xC0FFEE was the go-to.
So what's your favourite hexadecimal word? And would you be forced to issue code patches if the rest of the world found out?
