Like so many others, I wish to honour the life of Gary Gygax.  For me, Rob Balder and Tom Smith sum it all up with this song:

I have a perverse urge to gather together a party and play through Tomb of Horrors using 1st edition AD&D rules.  Anyone with me?

I used to play D&D with my older brothers a long long time ago. I think we played the first three adventures a few hundred times each.

I was 8 or 9 when I got the books. Sadly I didn't have much opportunity to play with others, but I spent countless hours on my own rolling up characters and designing incredible castles. Then I found Traveller, with the High Guard supplement that would allow you to design complex space ships. And now I build satellites for a living. I think the flow of cause and effect is clear.
